Title:
Minutes of a meeting of the Kehillah's Collegium, Vilna
Description:
First page of the minutes of a meeting of the Kehillah's Collegium, Vilna,  May 8, 1919 (?). A discussion on what to do about about "elements" who have left the Kehillah (Jewish community council) and now want to rejoin is tabled until Dr. Shabad is present. Instead, a discussion about delivering a protest to the Polish authorities takes place. Some members want to send it in the mail "as is appropriate from one official institution to another," while others are in favor of hand-delivering it right away, as it will, in any case, be published the next day in the newspaper. Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzenski is in the latter camp, noting "we still don't know what the attitude of the authorities are toward the Kehillah." In the end, it is decided to send the document by mail, to the civilian and not the military authorities, and to address it to Jozef Pilsudski.
